Powertex Secret Garden Party

Morning crafty peeps, a quick warning this post has loads of photos, so grab a brew and get yourself comfy.
In July my daughter and I attended the Powertex Garden Party a full weekend of crafting, creating, chatting, making new friends and having fun.

Taking a break and relaxing whilst our creations dry.

Are you ready for your close up?....

and now starting to add some mane.

My finished unicorn all painted, with gold wax picking out some detail.

We stayed in a lovely hotel and decided to extend our stay to do a bit of sight seeing whilst there.

We had to make use of the hot tub in the hotel spa whilst we where there.

We had such a wonderful time, I've already booked for next year :)

Trying out a facebook post

Dreaming of the sea...

All this lovely sunshine is making me dream of  holidays by the sea.
I love to make wall hangings using lots of mixed media, chipboard, sparkly paints, real and handmade embellishments.
Here's a few

Aren't they just lovely?

She sells sea shells....

As I was in a seaside mood today, I decided to decorate some shells.
I used large scallop shells, painted them with an ombre effect using Starlight paints, then glued on gems and pearls.
They make a gorgeous decoration in the bathroom or as a pretty sparkly display in any room.

Mother Nature canvas

Good morning, Today I'd like to share a canvas I made using one of my hand cast resins.

The other day I bought some resin and got out my moulds and I think I went a bit mad. Its so addictive I couldnt stop pouring and casting until I'd used up the entire 1kg bottles.

I have been watching and getting inspiration from some videos by Anna Hersom and thought I'd have a go.

You can see the mother nature cast a little closer here, and some of the small resin flowers.

Mirror mirror on the wall....

Today I'm sharing a large canvas I made using Stamperia rice paper, a hand cast resin frame, chipboard, texture paste and Deco art paints.
Firstly I drew an outline of the dress, then stuck down the rice paper. I applied texture paste to the dress to give a little dimension and once dry painted over it. I also applied some through stencils around the background.
Once the rice paper and texture paste had dried, I sponged on paint in coordinating colours all over, around the edges of the rice paper.
I glue silver mirror card to the back of a resin frame and glued that onto the canvas, then to pull it all together I added in some extra painted flowers, leaves and twirly tendrils. Then to finish a couple of 3d butterflies were applied.

Fundraising for a donkey sanctuary

Good morning crafty friends, here's a cute donkey canvas I painted.
I was contacted by a lovely lady who was raising funds for Radcliffe donkey sanctuary. They were holding a craft fair and wanted donations for the raffle and to sell on the day. I put together a box of  my handmade items and decided to paint a donkey canvas for them too.

I wonder who won it, I hope they like it.
Its the first time I've painted a donkey, I know its not perfect, but I'm only learning and I did enjoy having a go.

A little bit of magic ...

Good morning all, I've been making a little magic, well magic wands anyway.
I love Harry Potter books and films and heard someone talking about making their own magic wand and thought I'd have a go.
Its very easy and great fun, and needless to say very addictive.
This is a picture of the first 9 I made, but I actually went on to make nearly 20.

2nd Unicorn Painting - Unicorn with flower crown

Here's the 2nd unicorn painting that I made for my aunt to choose from. I did start off taking photos as I painted then when I came back to it the next day I forgot, :(  so here's the first couple of painting in progress pics.

And here's the finished canvas

So out of the 2 which one is your favourite?
Flowing mane or Flower crown

My aunt and her grand daughter both loved the unicorn with the flower crown and it has pride of place on the wall over her bed.
