Beige is no longer boring, it can be beautiful.

This is my first card as a member of the design team for the ABC challenge.
This week its Team B's turn for the letter N - Neutrals.
Our wonderful sponsors this week are Whimsy Stamps . I have used Chrissy's Little Angel available from them as a digi stamp. Isn't she just adorable?

I coloured her using Copics and Prisma pencils in neutral shades, beige and browns. I always thought of beige as boring but not any more, I think shes just beautiful.
I used papers from a K and Co pad, flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, some raffia lace, ribbon and felt swirls. Everything was distressed to within an inch of its life, I even added a bit of glitter to the edges of the flowers and swirls as well.

I carried the design onto the base of the Easel card, using a sentiment from Hot off the Press ( I think ).

I found this challenge hard at first as I'm not really a beige person, but once I found some papers and started to put it together, I really enjoyed making it and am quite proud of the end result. Hope it inspires you to try some thing out of your comfort zone.
I do hope that you can join us for the challenge and don't forget to pop over and see the rest of the DT's amazing creations.

And now for something completely different.......

When I looked at this weeks Cute Card Thursday challenge and saw it was -Banish the Blues, a humourous card to cheer us up, I instantly thought of this image. Sorry I don't know what its called or who's make it is, I received it along with some other images as a gift from another crafter.
I decided to follow the sketch on the Wags and Whiskers challenge #47. I used papers from an old pad and coloured with a mix of Copics, Prismas and Sakura gelly roll pens. I know, I know the colouring is pityful, but theres not alot you can do with this image, in terms of fancy colouring. A strip of stripey ribbon was added to follow the sketch.
I really love these funny sentiments, but its not my normal style and caused a bit of a problem, as I had to think up how to finish the design without using my usual feminine flowers or cutie embellishments.

So I decided on something totally different. I made some candles from a couple of cotton bud sticks, with a little flower stamen threaded through and the end cut off. And then I coloured the end of one red to make a match. I did however add quite a few gems, well I did have to go a bit girlie, didnt I ?

True Love

Good morning all. I made this card last night for the Whiff of Joy challenge #97 - Love is in the air. I used some papers and a sentiment that were free from a mag. I inked the edges and put it together following the sketch on Creative Inspirations sketch #97.
I used this older WOJ image - Lizzie with chocolates, coloured with Copics. I wasn't happy with my colouring and thought I might disguise it by inking around the edge. I used distress inks first, but it didnt look pink toned, it looked more like dirty brown, so I ended up going over with a mix of Distress ink and a pink Brilliance, thats why it looks over done. I suppose I shouldnt be so honest and pretend this is exactly what I had in mind. Oh well the cats out of the bag now.

I added flowers from Wild Orchid, that I glittered slightly on the edges and this cute little Cupid charm that I found in stash.
Lastly I added some black pearls and mini black gems, which I have just noticed I put on after I took this photo.

I decided to use the last bits of paper up, so carried the same basic sketch design through on the inside. Kept it pretty plain, without bulky embellishments and blank, so that I can write in it or add verse or something later.
I am also entering it into these challenges

Just been practising some colouring.

Hi hope everyones having a relaxing weekend.
I've been having a practice at colouring  dresses, trying to work out how to get believable folds and creases. Anyone wanting some fantastic colouring tutorials needs to head over to Zoe - Make it Crafty she is one talented lady, her colouring is amazing and she loves to share her talents and techniques with some fab video tutorials.
This is Chrissys little Angel a digi available from Whimsy Stamps. I used Copics mainly, with touches of Prisma pencils at the end. Sorry about the quality of the photo, not brill, but its too dark and dreary to get much better.

This little cutie is called Gracie's roses, also available from Whimsy Stamps. I found her skirt caused me a bit more difficulty as there are so many folds. Again I used Copics on Gracie and flowers and Prisma on the background and little touches on the dress.
I think I find it tricky as I have only a few Copics and have to try to blend dark and light with no in between shades. Well thats my excuse.  Lol.
These are not brilliant I know and there's lots of room for improvement, but I am quite pleased with my first attempt.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend

Wow two cards and posts in one day, can you tell that I've missed a couple of days blogging?
Well here's a card for the Lili of the Valley challenge this week they want to see some Romance.
I followed the sketch over at Friday Sketchers #140. Not sure where the paper and embossed card are from had them ages.

The image is LOTV and I coloured with Copics and Prisma pencils.
I punched out the heart and kisses border and attached with some heart brads by Cardology. Finished with flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts.
I am entering it into

Kenny K challenge card

Good morning all, I've not had chance to make or post any challenge cards for a couple of days, but have managed to put together this quick one for  the Kenny K Krafty Girlz challenge - this week its favourite things. Some of my favourite things are ribbon, gems, this image, she's so sassy and my old denim blue jeans that I used to wear alot when I was younger. (I know I haven't used them on the card, but these on the image look really similar and reminded me of when I was young and sassy.) lol.
I followed the sketch over on Truly Scrumptious challenge #50.
I used some freebie papers from a mag, and the sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps, digi download.

I coloured this lovely young lady with Copics and Prisma pencils, no surprize there. I felt it looked a little bare so I punched out a couple of swirls and cut them into smaller pieces, for around the edge. I used ribbon and a flower slider brad ( not too sure what its called) and finished with a few gems in the corner. ..and Voila a quick card.
I am also going to enter it in the Copic Creations challenge - who are 'Cool' this week. I think the colours are cool and she most definately is.
Also the Stamp Something challenge want us to use a digi.

To my valentine

My card today is on a romantic theme. It is based on the sketch over on Inspirational Card Sketches. I turned it and used a heart shape instead of the large circle. I used some more free papers and the red card I got on sale from Create and Craft. I inked all the edges with Distress Ink, to give a bit of a distressed look.

I chose this sweet image from Penny Black, coloured it with Copics and added a red glaze to the rose and a hand written message to the tag.

I finished off by adding a die cut heart, with a stamped sentiment and some elegant red pearls, from The Hobby House.
I am going to enter this card into these challenges;
Penny Black Saturday Challenge #135 January sales - I bought my card stock on sale from C+C and my new Copics and pearls, not in sale but just bought.
The Crafty Purple Frog Challenge Distressing - edges of paper and card

Double Anya card

I thought I would have a go at masking and stamping multiple images today.
I stamped my sitting Miss Anya - dressy set, first, then covered her with a mask, then stamped the armchair from Whiff of Joy, then covered the chair with a mask and finally stamped the standing Miss Anya, also from dressy set.
I followed Jeanette's sketch over at Friday Sketchers, but as my image was so large, I had to make my card bigger 8x8 and so my circles look much smaller than on the sketch.
I used Copics to colour the image, and practiced making creases or movement in the skirt and hat. Think I need more practice, not quite right yet.

I used some more of the free papers I got from a magazine. I'm determined to use up some of my patterned papers, I've got loads and loads, but still keep going out and buying more. It is my addiction !
I finished with some lace raffia, ribbon and flowers all from stash.

I am entering this card into these challenges;

The papers were free from a papercrafting magazine, sorry I can't remember which one it was a good time ago.
I coloured her with Copics and added glitter to her wings, although you can't see it in the picture.
