The Sugar Bowl Challenge 4 - One!

Over at the Sugar Bowl the challenge this week is to use only one patterned paper. The one I chose is 'I think' K & Co, it was an odd sheet I found so not sure. This image from the Sweet Art Ebony collection - Postbox, has been coloured using Marvy Le Plume pens and a little gelly roll pen to add a touch of glitter. As with most cards I make at the moment, I used my doily punch from the Martha Stewart range to make a border across the bottom, (can't you tell its my new toy of the moment). A stamped sentiment held on with brads and layered flora doodles to finish off.

Whiff of Joy Challenge and Cute Card Thursday

Here's my entry to this weeks Whiff of Joy Challenge ~ Katharinas sketch.
I followed the sketch more or less as it is. These beautiful stamps from the new Spring Set were stamped using a masking technique to get the little cutie sitting on the stump,I watercoloured the image and layered up some K & Co papers. I used a Martha Stewart border punch and rub-ons on to 2 large brads. The card was finished off with a couple of ceramic embellishments.
As I have used spring colours and a stamp from the spring set ,I am going to enter this card in the Cute Card Thursday Challenge~ Signs of Spring too.

Lili of the Valley

Here's my card for the Lili of the Valley Challenge 18. Once again I've used a new WOJ stamp, coloured with water colour pencils.
I used a strip of papermania paper from the flowery pad. The flourishes were cut on my cricut and finished with some crystal gems. Quick and easy. Hope you like :)
Sorry the pic is a bit dull, it looks quite white and crisp in real life.

Two in One Challenges

Just made this card with one of my new WOJ stamps from the spring kit. I followed the sketch from Raspberry ribbons kits & sketches challenge. #15. I thought I would also enter it in The secret crafters saturday challenge. ~ Spring has sprung, as I think it looks quite spring like, with all the bright colours and flowers.

Isn't she gorgeous? soooo cute.
I used some paper free with a magazine, stamped and water-coloured with Marvy pens. Used my new Martha Stewart punch (been treating myself alot lately)to make 2 edging borders, apiece of ribbon from American crafts and finished with a couple of layered flora doodle flowers.

New W.O.J Stamps ~ Yippee !!!

My new Whiff of Joy spring stamp kit has just arrived. I pre ordered them last month and didn't know what to expect, but I have to say I'm thrilled, they look amazing. I'm off to play.

Spoonfull of Sugar Challenge- Oh Baby

I made this card for the Spoonful of Sugar -Oh Baby Challenge. I did some paper piecing on the image and painted with twinkling H2O's. A patchwork of patterned paper for the background and finished with Liquid Pearls, ribbon and a bear button. I had originally made this for a friend of mine who due, but I'm not over keen so I made another, below.

This card I made for a friend of mine who has just been given her date for a planned section, she knows she's having a boy, so at least I didn't struggle with which colours to use. I got my inspiration for this card from one that Debby made for the above challenge, you can view hers on her blog at A Scrapjourney.
I used a Penny Black stamp, water coloured it, layered plain and patterned papers and made a wrap around strip for the middle using the piece of card that I cut off the A4 sheet in order to make the square card. The text was printed on my computer and the card finished with a bow. Simple!

Back soon.....hopefully

After taking a break from blogging in the run up to and over christmas, I'm hoping to get back to doing some challenges and getting this blog back upto date. I have only posted some candy links so far, but once I get back into my usual day to day routine I have promised myself that I will find time to sit at my crafting table and get busy.

Wishing everyone a Happy and Prosperous 2009, may all our wishes come true.
Hugs Sue x

Stamp Something and Cute Card Thursday Challenges

I made this card following the sketch on this week Stamp Something Challenge. I started with a blank red card with a layer of holly vellum. The stamped images are Penny Black and coloured with marvy le plume and highlighted with sakura gelly roll and glaze pens. They were then layered on to green card and then applied to a strip of red. I finished with a ribbon bow and 4 green gems. I decided to use this card for the Cute Card Thursday Challenge too as its *Red and Green*.

Mums Birthday Card

I took her to a craft fair this afternoon, where she pick a gorgeous bracelet, that has magnets in, to help with her arthritis.

Saturday Sketch # 23

Here's my card for this weeks Saturday Sketch. I also went for the option of using Autumn colours. The papers are Basic Grey and I used some thin fibers instead of ribbon. I stamped Willow with Cookies using Archival Black and watercoloured with a mix of pencils and Marvy Le Plume. I used the same inkpad for the sentiment and swirl. The flowers are Prima and Flora Doodles with brad centers. I really liked this sketch its a bit different, thanks Coco.
