I've been painting , but not on cards

I've been busy this week, I've been decorating my son's bedroom and trying to get a good stock of nappy and towel cake gifts, ready for all the craft fairs that are coming up, starting this coming Saturday.
We had a great day out on Sunday, my hubby won us all VIP entrance to VW car racing at Donnington Park, including Paddock passes and free food and drinks all day.

My son has just joined the army cadets, so he asked for camoflage colours in his bedroom, as usual I decided to go one step further and painted him a feature wall to match the new camoflage bed linen.

What do you think? He loves it.
Please ignore the shelving unit, I've got to start putting all his belongings back in now.

Another batch of Christmas cards

Tried to keep these plain, so they were quite quick and easy to make. I bought the stamps from The Hobby House when I visited the Papercraft Show at Harrogate Showground last month.
I stamped and coloured with Promarkers and although you can't see on the photos, I used stickles on the snowman, Santas beard and Rudolphs antlers and nose.

So I would like to enter these in the A Spoon full of Sugar #124 - Sparkle and Shine and also Stamp Something - Time to Celebrate challenges.

More Christmas cards

I enjoyed making the card in the last post so much I decided to make some more using the same sketch. I'm trying to get a good stock of Christmas cards ready in time for a few local church and school craft fairs I will be attending. Thought I might group these together in a box or pack to sell.

Papertake Weekly blog hop card

Here's my card for the Papertake Weekly blog hop challenge.
I followed Dawny's sketch from challenge 31. As I'm currently trying to get my Christmas cards made, I decided to make this Christmas themed.
I stamped this gorgeous Whiff of Joy image and coloured with Promarkers.
I punched some patterned paper flowers and spritzed them with some gold silkies, then layered them up and finished with a pearl centre.
Hope you like it.

I've got my assessment tomorrow - Wish me luck !

Here's a few cards I made today. Two of the thankyou cards are for the head teacher and class teacher I used to work for. I have been preparing for my assessment for Higher Level Teaching Assistant over the last few months and the big day is tomorrow. After interviewing and assessing me the assessor has to speak to these 2 ladies and hopefully they will big me up and tell him what a great job I do when working with the children. So I have made cards and got them gifts in anticipation of their kind words. I am very nervous so making these cards today has helped take my mind off tomorrow. I will only find out if I pass in about 6 weeks so 'Fingers crossed'.

These two are versions of Julie Hickeys 9 square design.

I got inspiration for this from a card by Emma Williams a design team member over at Craftwork Cards blog.
Most of the papers, cards, sentiments and card candy are all from Craftwork Cards.

Craft Fair Hoole Chester

Here's some pictures of the craft fair I did with my friend Carol on Saturday.

Although it wasn't very profitable as there were not many customers, I think everyone was enjoying the sunshine and who can blame them, we did have a lovely time and made some more lovely new crafty friends.

We got lots of compliments on our stand and sold a few cards some small gifts and knitted items.
We are not giving up just yet and have booked tables at some more events in Liverpool, Warrington and Frodsham.

How does your garden grow

Yet another image from the Moments in Time stamp range. After water colouring the image I used a little Flower Soft on the grass.

The edge was punched using a Martha Stewart punch and the card was finished with ribbon, flowers and charms. Not sure which DP I used, its probably one of the K&Co range.
I would like to enter this in to the Secret Crafters Saturday Challenge - #77

Saturday sketch - #97

Heres another Man of the match card, this time following Terry's sketch on the Saturday Sketch - #97

Again I coloured the image with Distress Inks, but this time layered some papers from a forever friends pad for men.

I used footballs cut from patterned paper to decorate around the image. The wording came from the same Moments in Time stamp set.

Man of the Match

Here's my first challenge card in ages. I couldn't wait to try my new Flower Soft - Moments in time stamps.
I stamped the man of the match and coloured the image using Distress Inks.

I layered coloured and embossed card, along with football stamped card following Tina's sketch on Stamp with fun - challenge 52.

As its a football card I didnt want to use flowers, so I used more stamped and coloured footballs.
I am also entering this card into the Allsorts challenge #46 - No DP's

No time for blogging or challenges

Hi everyone, just a quickie to let you know I haven,t fell off the face of the earth. At the beginning of the year I was struck down with septic tonsillitus, very poorly. Ok now though thank goodness.
Currently a friend and I have decided to have a go at selling at craft fairs, so I have been trying to get a bit of stock built up in order to sell.
I am taking a few photos of my current crafty creations, and hopefully will post some pics later. Back to business now, Bye all Hugs Sue xx

Little Presents, my guest designer entry, a card and small choc box ....

for Stamp with fun Challenge. I'm so excited to be a guest designer for this weeks challenge - Little Presents. I made a little chocolate box and card to match.
I just couldn't resist using this House Mouse stamp it just seemed to fit the bill.

For the card, I stamped it twice, water-coloured the main image and coloured the background with Distress Ink refills, using a sponge technique and added snow with a Sakura white gelly roll pen. I cut out all the main images of mice and presents and layered them over the second coloured background image.

I layered a couple of patterned papers onto blue card and added a blue ribbon down and across the card trying to give the impression of a wrapped present.

For the choc box, I got the instructions from a tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers for Peek a Boo box here. I adjusted the size slightly and used just the small mouse wrapping a present, portion of the stamp. The same papers and ribbon were used to decorate the box. Inside some homemade chocolate truffles. Mmmmm yummy!
Hope you all like them! I really enjoyed my first guest designer spot.
